tudor city - united nations

weather permitting, i've been spending most lunch hours over the past 4 months in the tudor city area of midtown (42nd between 1st & 2nd), perched just above the united nations. this historic district of glorious 1920's tudor-style apartment buildings, 1860-era brownstones and immaculate parks provide a stark contrast to the blue-glass modernism of the UN and the surrounding chaos of midtown manhattan. the very definition of an urban oasis.

I love the lion fountain. Whenever I'm stressed or bored and need a clean break from work at lunch hour, I walk either east or west toward water. It always helps.
